What are the disadvantages of Monarchy and Anarchy? Any real life examples?

A major disadvantage of anarchy is that people will find difficult to coerce each other without having a tax base (government) to fund it. Oh wait, that's more of an advantage. And monarchies benefit the few at the severe expense of the many.
