Two options: Use short term treatment of the antifungal for the tinea versicolor, 3-5 days, and then start the statins. Or use topical treatment for the tinea versicolor. It may be widespread, but tinea versicolor is often not itchy or bothersome other than appearance and topical treatment is very reasonable.
